We are delighted to return to Material Art Fair, with a presentation featuring new works by Catherine Desroches (Montreal), Gérald Lajoie (Montreal) & India Sachi (New York). At Booth E25, Pangée brings together three dynamic practices of distinctive mediums within a curation that highlights mystical narratives and humanity’s entanglement in natural and material worlds. Both Desroches and Sachi's practices are informed by seeking interconnections with natural environments, personal and collective memory, sublimity and mythology. Holding space within this context, Lajoie explores how objects and materials are witnesses and traces of the human record, creating works that hover between decay and preservation, functionality and obsolescence. Lajoie’s latest series interrogates how space can emerge and be informed by simple gestures, like inward or outward folds and the use of layering, to create depth, repetition of shape, and manipulation of light.
